Processing of CFRP, GFRP, AFRP
"Composites" is the term used to describe most modern high-performance materials which are mainly used in the lightweight construction. They often consist of carbon, glass or aramid fibers combined with thermoset plastics or thermoplastics.
Depending on the application, the cutting materials tungsten carbide uncoated, coated or DP are more or less suitable. Taking into account all aspects, DP offers more advantages and that's why LEUCO rely on this cutting material.
CFRP
For the processing of abrasive CFRP, LEUCO relies on diamond-tipped shank-type cutters offering the highest possible edge lives and excellent cutting quality: Double-edged cutters, multi-tooth cutters, patented p-System cutters, drill bits with patented plunge tips and many more.
GFRP
GFRP is the most frequently used composite material. For perfect cutting results, LEUCO offers, for example, diamond-tipped tools for this heat-sensitive materialthat tends towards chipping, material fracturing or delamination during processing.
AFRP
The high ductility of the aramid fibers is a big challenge during processing.LEUCO is the only manufacturer offering for the cutting of AFRP a diamond-tipped shank-type cutter that provides a perfect cutting quality. The video shows how the patented LEUCO p-System cutter cleanly cuts the AFRP fibers.
